This webinar will demonstrate how physical models, usually used to understand how things behave, how different design changes will change how the complete system behaves, or for finding problems with a particular design, can be combined with reliability models that are constructed to find how long the system will function in a satisfactory manner. The physical models will be constructed in a component based and object oriented modeling language called Modelica. The physical models will then be augmented with reliability information: individual components in the models get associated life time distributions (Exponential, Weibull, and other common distributions in reliability) and a lifetime distribution for the complete sub system and full systems can be computed. These lifetime distributions can then be used to calculate survival function, MTTF, conditioned probabilities and importance measures such as Birnbaum importance. The webinar will also demonstrate how these models can be distributed license-free throughout an organization and with partners.
